The Making of an SIA Girl: Sarong Kerbaya Fitting

A Singapore Girl at her first sarong kerbaya fitting

Excerpt:

We had our first sarong kebaya fitting today. 5 more to go during the next 2 months. All e kebayas were not fully sewn yet. Hemmings, hooks, collars, were all not properly done. First fitting is juz to make sure the sizes of our individually tailored kebayas fit. As i am not well-endowed, i have been advised to wear a full-cup maximizer. Sheesh... but, 15 out of the 18 gals in my class were all asked to wear maximizers whenever we haf the kebaya on. So it shows that it's common to have a small chest. We're Asians anyway. Guys, dun complain. Blame it on our ancestors.
