I got my Powerbook replacement from my company finally, after more than four years using my trusty Powerbook Pismo G3 500mhz. It is a 15-inch G4 and it is a sweet piece of kit. 1.5 Ghz PowerPC G4, Bluetooth, Airport Extreme, Superdrive and a backlit keyboard that lights up depending the available ambient light. Did I also mention that my laptop's keyboard lights up according to the ambient light?
Sweet.
And got to carry it to work in a new Crumpler bag that the missus got me for a present (Thank you, dear!). Dude.
Plus, I got to go on afternoon half-day off, a birthday present compliments of the company. I spent it with the good Dr Bob, at that Geek Shopping Heaven, Sim Lim Square. Sweet.
Also picked up my refurbished PC rig (1GB of ram, Pentium4 2.8C, GeForce FX 5900 XT video card), kindly assembled by Dr Bob. I can now play PC games like Rise of Nations and C&C Generals instead of waiting 5 years for them to get to the Mac, or probably never on the Xbox. Dude.
Then I got to watch Spider-man 2 with the missus, and the movie was worth the trip. Sweet.
Got home, hugged the kids. Dude.
Not a bad way to spend ones birthday. I am a blessed man.
