A few days back, we had breakfast at the Toa Payoh Lorong 1 market, home to incredible food.
This is the Teochew Handmade Pau shop, where they sell bite-sized mini char siew paus. I can eat six at a go.
The wife had the famous wanton mee, and their great suey kao (shrimp dumplings), and Isaac and I had the famous 135 fishball noodles. Mom had the sliced fish beehoon. All good.
The drinks stall (with the rainbow sign) sells a wide variety of drinks from Tau Huay (soya bean) to water chestnut and my fave, sour plum.
I believe there is also a famous Hokkien mee stall here.
Before we left, we bought some pau, and also some muffins from Bliss Kitchen, a shop manned by a yandao hemsem dude who looks like a better-looking version of Sylvester Sim. They are having a buy 5 get 1 free muffin offer at the moment. Yum.
