One of the nicer ways of travelling up to KL

I usually enjoy taking the Aeroline coach up to KL. Sure you can fly but a shuttle flight does not come with a cozy little lounge in the lower deck where you can work on your laptop with power, or watch dvds with the media centre, or have power meetings during the 4 to 5 hour ride.

Or in my case, watching videos on my Maxian T600 portable media player while sitting in the sofa of the lounge, after working on a presentation.

I laughed out loud though, when the stewardess introduced the Captain who was driving this "flight" and when she announced that there is a restroom onboard for "light usage".

What does that mean? No taking a dump in the bus loo or it will explode? Just peeing allowed? A small poo is ok but call the driver to pull over if you have a major job?

Oh, besides the ride comfort, Aeroline is one of the few Singapore-KL-Singapore coach companies with a website booking system that actually works, and works quite well.

Ok, back to my show on the Maxian.

Saw this in the news, "SBS Transit launches 'Flag the Bus Early' campaign"

SINGAPORE : The SBS Transit has placed signs at 100 selected bus stops across Singapore, encouraging passengers to flag the bus early.

This will help bus captains stop at a timely manner and to ensure a smoother and safer ride for those onboard.

The operator has launched the public education campaign after receiving complaints that bus captains drove off from bus stops without picking up passengers.

Its subsequent investigations found that many commuters missed the bus because they often flagged too late.

Commuters can also pick up brochures on safe bus stop practices at 16 bus interchanges. - CNA /ls

So people, it is YOUR fault, ok?

Light a candle for victims of online child abuse

Update from one of the organisers, Chris Galea of TBWA: Hi everyone...as one of the organisers behind this, can I first of all thank you for your support. Hugely welcome, greatly appreciated...please, please spread the word to all your friends, contacts and more.

Secondly, to the question of legitimacy. This campaign is 100% legit. it has been tabled as part of the testimony given to the US Senate on this issue. The people behind it include the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography...this embraces people like Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, Bank of America, Standard Charteerd Bank...and many more. Big, global brands.

It is also a truly global campaign. In addition to the 700,000+ candles, we have over 2.5million page impressions registered, the TV commercial has run on BBC, CNN, MTV, Star and more. The print work has run in The Economist, Time, Fortune...all of this has been proivided by those media channels free of charge - they share your views on this disgusting trade.

Finally, the counter. We have been hit a couple of times by hackers trying to bring the site down...which to me means we are making an impact if the evil people that carry out this trade are now starting to worry about us. They have tried to jam the site, they have tried to bring our server down and now it appears they are trying to 'rig' the counter.

But be assured, whatever the on screen counter says, we have a back up system on the server and every single candle lit is registered. Again, please be asssured this is legitimate. And again, please spread the word as far and wide as you can.

A mini gastric flu epidemic rages through our household

Update: And then, right after we dealt with Faith, I began to feel the stomach cramps that kept me awake to the next morning. Another victim to the gastric flu.

It began with baby Joy throwing up and having diarrhoea. Then the gastric flu, probably the norovirus gastroenteritis that has been making its rounds in Singapore schools, hit one of my maids too, over the weekend.

Then the wife got hit with the vomiting on Monday morning, and blacked out in the lift even as she came back from the doctor's with Isaac, who also got hit.

Then just now, at 2am, Faith hurled too, so the weak missus, the remaining healthy maid, and I scrambled to clean up the royal mess. Thank goodness for mattress protectors.

"Gastric flu in Singapore under control"? My backside, ok?
