Ryan and I visited Podtech in Silicon Valley, the online video network. We met Jeremiah, who runs the blog, Web Strategy, and who interviewed me the last time he was in Singapore.
I also got to meet Robert Scoble, one of America's top bloggers, and had lunch with him, Jeremiah and Rocky, at Junnoon, an Indian fusion restaurant in front of Facebook's office. The food was ok, got prata, but a little ex.
While we were there, Facebook just had an outage and the guys had fun contacting people inside to see if they could get them to comment.
Robert showed us the heart of Palo Alto, around University Ave, where the brains and money of Silicon Valley hang out, and also the house where HP, and Silicon Valley, began. This was the birthplace of HP, and we even saw the famous garage.
Homes in this area are in the region of millions, but compared to housing prices in Singapore now, it's probably a bargain.
Later in the afternoon, we went to Fisherman's Wharf (yucks, so many tourists) and also we met up with Carl Parkes, aka http://friskodude.blogspot.com/, who lived in San Francisco for more than 30 years. He showed us around and you can read that report over at mrbrownshow.com.
