MDA Senior Director's Rap

Just when you thought the P65 MPs' rap took the cake, along comes the Media Development Authority with theirs.

I could not have made a funnier video if I tried.

I wanted to laugh but my ribs still hurt from the bicycle accident.

Back in 2004, Director Royston Tan made "Cut", a short film about censorship in Singapore, which was derided by Dr Lee Boon Yang, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts.

Dr Lee said:

"I think it is unhealthy for public officers who are carrying out their duties to be subjected to unwarranted ridicule even if it is just for a laugh, more so when such decisions were taken only after extensive consultations. The producer may think it is funny, but I am afraid I do not appreciate such unbecoming attempts to undermine the standing of a public institution."

I think it is a major step forward for a public institution to turn the tables on parodies like Royston's by creating their own videos.
