This is one of my fave snacks from childhood: Haw Flakes.
I think it's made from some berry (Haw berry?) but as a kid, you don't really care about things like the origins of what you eat. You just eat it because it's nice.
The wrapping just states the ingredients as "Haw" and "Sugar".
I usually ate it slice by slice, to make it last. I still eat it that way.
They have a tendency of getting stuck in your teeth but that's great too, because it means you will have some more to eat later.
In my childhood, the portion was smaller but these days the company seems to have upsized the portions. I have even a version of haw flakes in chunky bar sizes.
Faith loves these too. And I think she just spotted the haw flakes in my hands and like a homing missile, she is walking towards me. Looks like I'll have to share my haw flakes with my daughter.
