Singapore gets a new security agency to fight transnational terrorism, and what do we name it?
National Security Coordination Secretariat.
*slaps head*
That's what you get when you have bureaucrats doing the naming of elite agencies. I am surprised, this is the same Government that gave us names like "Spring Singapore" and "A*Star".
Why not Rainbow Six? Not local enough? The Merdeka Merlions (ok, that sounds like a bad local football team). Anything but "National Security Coordination Secretariat"! It doesn't even make a cool word! I mean, how do you say NSCS? NesCes?
If they ever made a computer game for this elite anti-terrorism agency that reports directly to the Prime Minister, I doubt if "National Security Coordination Secretariat: The Game" will sell very well.
What a waste of a perfectly good PR opportunity.
I do think I need to lay off the Xbox and my Tom Clancy novels for a while.

New agency gives security top priority
Threat of international terrorism is main concern of high-level revamp
By Dominic Nathan
A GOVERNMENT agency reporting directly to the Prime Minister will be set up to give national security concerns top priority at the highest levels of government.
Called the National Security Coordination Secretariat, it will shape the security response to transnational terrorism, Singapore's most serious and immediate threat, Dr Tony Tan told Parliament yesterday.
