Woohoo! Gmail is now POP-enabled! This means I can access my Gmail on my Mac's Mail.app as well as my Nokia 6630. For Windows users, you can now get your Gmail in Outlook or Eudora, instead of via your browser (tell me you're not using Internet Explorer still, are you? Get Firefox!).
The only problem so far I am facing is that Gmail uses port 995 for the incoming mail server and port 587 or 465 for the outgoing mail server. My Nokia only has 143/110 and 993/995 port support, and I cannot override the port for the SMTP server. Darn, I hope Gmail allows SMTP over other ports or I won't be able to use the Nokia email client to send mail.
Or I might have to use alternate email application like ProfiMail.
I am such a geek.
