Boing Boing readers discover the Singapore Central Narcotics Bureau's little online film festival of anti-drug movies. All of the movies are in huge zip files, so grab some popcorn while you wait for the download to complete.
Watch "The Awakening" (60 MB), a "3D animated film using only powerful sound effects and English subtitles".
Or catch "Best Friends" (210MB!) on the consequences of choosing the wrong friends, marred only the spoiler sypnosis which reveals that "Johnson, the gang leader, who is ultimately killed by a rival gang during a fight". Guess they didn't want you to think the movie was going to end with a gang leader who gets away scot free. No surprise endings here. In fact, most of the stories end with either arrests, death sentences and/or a gang death.
I foresee this page getting some serious bandwidth spikes. Maybe CNB should consider BitTorrent or Kazaa for distribution.

The Lure
This story focuses on the abuse of the synthetic drug Ketamine.
Two University students, Regina and Jaslyn are involved in Ketamine abuse. Under the influence of the drug she abused, Regina is gang-raped by a group of men at a club on one occasion and is also brutally beaten up.
In the end, Regina is kicked out of school and placed in a girls’ home, whilst Jaslyn is sentenced for probation. She also has to report for regular urine tests at CNB. The men who raped Regina are charged with rape and possession of Ketamine.
