First, the sales guy blurted it out when my wife and I visited Poh Kong Chye to look for some smaller pieces for casual wear.
"Ah, you're back! Did your wife like the Butterflies?"
I shook my head and put my finger to my lips and he understood right away.
But the wife heard it and asked me, "You bought me the ear-rings and pendant Butterflies, issit?"
"No, no, the guy mistook me for another guy," was the best excuse I could come up with. Yes, I am a lame liar.
Then a few days later, my Mom came visiting at my place and blurted out in front of her, "So did you like the Butterflies?"
*facepalm*
So it was with a great deal of relief that the Big Day finally came around, and I could stop living a (bad) lie.
The missus looked quite pleased with them, and wore them for me to see. The butterflies looked happy to be there too.
