Seems like there are quite a number of less than glowing reviews of the Phua Chu Kang (PCK) musical, Once in a Lifetime, if these reviews via Tomorrow.sg are anything to go by.
Even on Ebay, the bidding has not been fast and furious. Three $85 tickets for $120 also attracted no bids. So jialat ah?
The reviews:
Did I mention this was a government-supported musical? Well, the love was mutual, it seemed.
Case in point, a song and dance item within the first couple of acts in the musical on the importance of CIVIL DEFENCE (briefly mentioning TOTAL DEFENCE) in Singapore. Complete with cutesy re-enactment of emergencies where civil defence protected one’s family and loved ones blah blah blah. Please. This is not a f-king National Education school skit, people.
