Latest TODAY column: The price is wrong
Excerpt:
LATELY, I have been very confused by prices in Singapore.
Petrol has gone up 9 cents, to $1.70, just after The Great Discount War, a short-lived war that saw discounts going as high as 26 per cent.
If I had known this was going to happen, I would have brought along a few more empty tanks to buy more petrol during the pre-hike high-discount period.
It was too good to last for long.
These days, I drive around and see giant signs at petrol kiosks, declaring their discounts, like 10 per cent off! And plus 3 per cent more if you use some card or other! And plus $2 off if you buy a bag of rice!
