Latest TODAY column: Let's hear it for S'pore's new mascots
Excerpt:
As I write this, I am dealing with a little noise pollution. My flat overlooks the stage where they have set up the wayang. By night, they perform until 10.30pm (plus or minus 30 minutes, usually plus). By day, they are rehearsing for the night.
To my left, a school is undergoing upgrading, and the school has conveniently moved out (so they announce on this banner they put on their gate), leaving us residents to deal with the dust and the musical sounds of piling, digging and banging.
Not even a note in our letter-boxes to tell us of the impending construction. Thanks, ah.
