Really. She ma-chiam the Rock Chick at her one-woman (plus band) show, Pam-demonium, last night at the Durian's cozy Recital Studio. It was a great way to spend Date Night with my wife, whom I had not gone out with in two weeks (work lah).
They originally had two shows, one on Friday and one on Saturday, at 9.30pm, but those sold out pronto. Then they added two more shows, at 7.30pm, and also sold out!
They have now added a final two shows on Sunday, so go and watch, go (not expensive, dun worry). I tell you, got one song she sing, that impersonation alone, is worth the price of admission.

Many of you are aware that during the coming elections, you are not allowed to blog, podcast or publish anything that persistently promotes a certain political view, or political party. So much so that some of you have actually decided to stop blogging for the time being, just to be safe.
Miyagi and myself have a silly little slogan to remind ourselves to stay within the law, and that slogan is "Remember, Prison Got No Broadband".
It looks like our slogan has struck a chord with some of you, like April Rain, who used it in a recent post.
So we thought, what a waste. A perfectly good General Election, which comes only once in a blue moon, and no podcasts or blogs during such an exciting time because we are not sure what is allowed or not allowed.
I tell you what. Let's start podcasting, taking photos and writing blog posts, about your life in the weeks leading up to Polling Day, which is 6th May, but NOT of the elections. That way, you know you will not accidentally broadcast, photograph or publish illegal stuff, like snap and distribute photographs of party logos.
Then you tag your election-period effort singaporeelections so that the Technorati search engine will pick it up. And for the title of your podcast, photo or blog post (remember, NON-political stuff), use "Remember, Prison Got No Broadband". For photos, you can upload it to Flickr and tag it singaporeelections and entitle it "Remember, Prison Got No Broadband".

CNA: Videocasts on GE to be available on Channel NewsAsia website
SINGAPORE : Videocasts of the General Election, shot using 3G mobile phones, will be available on the Channel NewsAsia website everyday starting from Nomination Day.
These clips will be produced by bloggers representing both the pre- and post-independence generations.
"Here (with videocasting), you can put a little bit of your own personal comments and see whether you are convinced by the issues being argued," said blogger and Channel NewsAsia producer Au Yong May Lin.
"I'm trying to capture a different angle of the elections, something that is more colourful, something noisier and funnier," said blogger Farid Johari, Channel NewsAsia art director.
What viewers will also be seeing is news as it happens on the ground, as the bloggers will be uploading their clips on the Channel NewsAsia website instantaneously.

Update 1 (24 April, 2216h): Blogger is having some problems all day so I cannot publish the feed that my iTunes subscription uses. So bear with me, subscribers, and I will try to get the feed fixed when Blogger gets their act together.
No Miyagi this week, just mr brown and Mr Tan (yes he is back!) podcasting from a noisy Super Nice coach to Kuala Lumpur.
We were supposed to take a premium coach (like those from the Aeroline and the Nice bus companies), which I booked online, but for some reason, I ended up booking tickets for Thursday for all six of our party, when we were supposed to depart Friday. Of course, I only discover this on the taxi to the pickup point, on Friday morning itself.
So we ended up on a Super Nice bus (that's what this competitor called its buses).
We decided to podcast our experience travelling up the North-South Highway, including cultural experiences like stopping over at Yong Peng rest stop, and being participants of, er, police entrepreneurialism.

Latest TODAY column: A dialogue with my son
Excerpt:
MY two-year-old son Isaac has been showing signs of dissent. He insists on watching his Wiggles DVDs and other "tartoons" on "teebee". And when I say no, he throws a tantrum and bawls.
I am concerned. He used to be a sweet baby but these days, he is testing the boundaries of what is allowed, pushing for things to be done his way.
I tried to reason with him, suggesting that perhaps he would like to do something wholesome like read a good book with me. But he wanted his TV show, and for the time being, he did not want to be persuaded.

Seth asked in a previous post where in DoTA do you hear "I am the Law!" and wondered, "What version you playing, man?"
In answer to the version of the DotA map we play (and no, sixphere, it is not 5.84b), it is currently DotA Allstars v 6.30b, which I think is a little buggy.
I am surprised, I thought everyone would recognise the voice of Mortred the Phantom Assassin (see annoying animated gif on the left), which is based on the Warden in Warcraft 3. Here are some of her other quotes.

The lights of this 24-hour internet LAN gaming shop blinked and twinkled before us.
"Welcome to DotA Land," the lights seemed to say.
We had spent the evening after dinner walking around our KL hotel at Bukit Bintang looking for one but the only LAN shops we found were the kind where they include foot reflexology and body massages, and other er, health services. I have never seen a street with so many strangers concerned for our health.
We had almost given up hope, because our meetings finished late and it was already past the closing time of most shops. Also, most people we asked could only direct us to the internet cafes with the semi-comatose PCs that only did email and had an old version of Explorer.
Then we stumbled on a late-closing toy store opposite Federal Hotel, and I asked the owner if by any chance there were any LAN shops nearby. I guess you have to ask the right people, because he was a wellspring of cyber-info. After boasting that there were at least 8 such shops near where he lived - which was nowhere near his shop - he said we could try the 24-hour AM/PM one at Plaza Lowyat. But don't be fooled by the fact that all the shops were closed in that building, he said. Just ask the security guard there.
"Holy Shit! Monster kill! First blood! Ownage!" we said, as we scurried like creeps to find our base. And after wondering the forests of the Lowyat, there she was, our Secret Shop.
It was a clean and well-equipped shop too, expensive by Malaysian standards (RM4 an hour) but worth every sen. The only blip in our night of gaming bliss was this moron kid next to me, who decided that it would be fierce to play DotA while blasting Kelly Clarkson(!) at full volume. But after I jacked up my PC's volume and blasted "Holy Shit!" and "I am the Law!" into his ears, he got the hint and voted to play without his American Idol and lowered his volume.
Good for him. Wait I blink strike him then he know. Never piss off a group of guys feeding their DotA withdrawal in a foreign land.
