ka on SPUG forums dissected the Lee Bee Wah table tennis press conference and came up with some interpretations:
"I had made comments which had been misunderstood and had upset some Singaporeans. I sincerely apologise for causing any grievances and any stress."i.e. you misunderstood me.
"It is regretful that this situation happened and turned out the way it did."i.e. It should not have happened. I'm sorry that it did.
or
It wasn't supposed to happen this way if I had it all my way.
"Categorically, the crisis is over." (Dr Vivian Balakrishnan)
"Let's go back to our celebration." (Mr Ng Ser Miang)i.e. Let's move on.
