Our journey to London and back required an ass-numbing non-stop 13-hour flight, via our national airline and when you have 13 hours to kill, you learn some deep and profound things about yourself. I now believe we Singaporeans have a gene that allows us to consume copious amounts of movies.I must have watched at least four movies each way. Okay, four and a half because I could not finish Body of Lies before I landed in Heathrow. The air stewardess (are we allowed to call them that still?) noticed me using my own headphones to watch it as we were about to land and reminded me nicely of the no headphone-using-while-landing rule.
I think this rule was created because aviation science has discovered that when subject to the rapidly changing descent of an aircraft, a pair of headphones will sometimes spontaneously burst into life and strangle you like that monster from Aliens.
