I usually have no issue with Army commercials. They are full of bravado and macho bullshit but at least you can treat them as action flicks and turn off your brain to enjoy the fun.
But this one, where do I begin to describe the lameness of this one? What is it trying to say? Who are they trying to target?
Is this to tell women, "Hey, SAF scholars and/or regulars are prize catches!"?
Or is this to portray Singapore women as a bunch of needy bimbos?
Or is this to tell young men, "Hey, SAF scholars get all the hot chicks, man! Sign on now!"
I mean, the first thing my friends said when they saw this was, "He chao geng half day to meet gerfren, issit?"
Another friend said, "Must be SAF scholar officer lah. Only they have time to come out to meet girlfriend, the rest of us have to do real work."
If you watched this commercial, and signed on as a regular because of it, we are doomed.
