I saw a forum thread waxing lyrical about Nicole Seah of the NSP perspiring (no I am NOT posting it here, ewwww) and creeped out by it, I tweeted this:
"Just saw an entire forum thread about Nicole Seah *sweating*"
As soon as I hit Send, I knew the tweet would be misread because it could mean:
"I just saw an entire forum thread about Nicole Seah, and I am sweating."
Or it could mean:
"I just saw an entire forum thread on the topic of Nicole Seah sweating."
Using asterisks for emphasis online can be a dangerous thing, I tell ya.
I would like to clarify for the record that I meant the latter. Although I have to say no one perspires as gracefully as Miss Seah.
I say that purely as an academic observation, of course.
