I decided today to go easy on the long drives to see volcanoes, and take the kids to something more kid-friendly. Our driver, Island, drove us towards Lembang where we visited Kampung Gajah, a kind of wonderland theme park. There is a flat fee of 150,000 rupiah per person that allows you to play in the water park, the go-karts and bumper boats. We didn't have time for the water park but Isaac and Joy really enjoyed themselves driving the go-kart and bumper boats.
I was apprehensive at first, because that go-kart didn't look like the safest thing in the world, but Isaac really took to it like an F1 driver. I guess I underestimate him sometimes.
We also let them try the trampoline. It made him cry at first but after a few gentler jumps, he was really flying.
Even Faith got a chance for some trampoline jumping, without the harness, of course. It totally works her sensory systems. We could tell she really loved it.
The next stop was Kampung Daun, where you get to dine in little huts in a forested area. It was not very cheap but the experience was pleasant. My mom (and me) even fell asleep in our huts.
The younger two got to ride some horses too. "My dream come true!" said Joy, the resident princess. The horses they rode are smaller than usual and I am told it is a local breed that is called something like "mini-horse".
After we got back to the hotel, we dumped the kids and went to do some factory outlet shopping in peace. My job was to hold the bags and pay the bills.
