I love mixing things. I used to go to the drink machine and fill my cup with a combo of soft drinks on tap, to see what goes well together. You know, like ice cream soda with cola and orange soda. Fun times.
So I was very excited when I found out from the folks at Guinness that there is a new way of drinking beer, called Beer Gao, which is made by adding Guinness Foreign Extra Stout to your beer. You can see how this is done in my video above.
The results surprised me pleasantly. My lager became flavourful and different in a good way.
This reminds of other ways that Singapore likes mix things together, to create our rich and varied food and drink culture.
Go and try Beer Gao with your friends and see what level of mixing works best for you! Try different levels of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and mixing the stout with different lagers too! Do let me know the combos you come up with.
I will be sharing food pairings in the coming weeks too, like what food goes with Beer Gao and Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, so stay tuned to my Instagram and Twitter feeds.
